"2024 Rick Agee Memorial PK Golf Tournament"

The Rick Agee Foundation’s annual Rick Agee Memorial PK Golf Tournament was another resounding success here in 2024! We absolutely could not have done it without the passion and support of the tournament players, volunteers, and sponsors. Thank you all so much for your generosity, compassion, and for helping us help others in Rick’s name.

Aside from being a success from an operational and financial standpoint, this year’s golf tournament included TWO holes-in-one. On Friday, June 21, Wesley Raker hit a hole in one at the 2nd hole at Sugar Tree Golf Club. This was the first time a hole-in-one was hit during any Rick Agee Foundation round of golf. The second ever hole-in-one hit during a Rick Agee Foundation round of golf came just under twenty-four hours later, when RAF board member Bill Smith recorded an eagle at the par-three 12" hole at The Cliffs.

The Rick Agee Foundation hosts the golf tournament every year to accomplish our organizational goals of promoting research, awareness, and support for those suffering from oral, head, and neck cancers, supporting education through scholarship opportunities, and providing direct support to those affected by oral, head, and neck cancers. So far this year we have raised over $40,000.00 through sponsorships and individual donations which will help us meet our aims.

"We are committed to using the remaining funds to help people on a more individual basis, and to work in tandem with local cancer organizations to provide support to those who need it."

After the golf tournament, we were able to provide a lump sum donation of $17,500.00 to Support for People with Oral and Head and Neck Cancer (“SPOHNC’”), an organization that was near and dear to Rick’s heart throughout his long and courageous struggles with cancer. Many folks at SPOHNC knew Rick, and SPOHNC continues to be an invaluable resource for the hundreds of thousands of people affected by oral, head, and neck cancers.

We were also able to donate an additional $10,000.00 towards education at Rick’s alma mater, Texas Tech University. Of this amount, half went towards the Rick Agee Memorial Scholarship Endowment, which grows every year and will be awarded to students studying horticulture at the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. The remaining $5,000.00 was split into two equal scholarships which were recently awarded to two students.

Thank you all again for your generous support of the Rick Agee Foundation. We absolutely could not have done any of this without you, and we look forward to seeing everyone again on Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21, 2025. In the meantime, please spread the word about the spread the word about the good work we’re doing here, and take some time to Visit rickageefoundation.org to stay up-to-date on the goings-on of our Foundation.
